Education

  • 2013-2016 Took a professional course of Communication - Marketing, Public Relations and Publicity at ETEO Caldas da Rainha and it was here that I decided to continue studying Graphic Design and illustration. Finished it with a score of 18.

  • 2016-2019 Graduated in Graphic Design at ESAD.cr with a score of 16.

  • 2019 Did a course of model drawing with the teacher Paula Nobre.

  • 2020-2023 Did my masters degree in Illustration and Animation at IPCA, with a score of 16.

Work

  • 2015-2016 Curricular Internship - Jornal das Caldas. I paginated the newspaper as well as wrote news and took photographs for it.

  • 2016 Internship Erasmus+ - LuBA (Rome). As part of the Erasmus+ program I did an internship at LuBA (Libera Università dei Bambini), where I was responsible for the photographic record of the day-to-day nursery school and developed a blog for them.

  • 2017 Paginator - Auto Júlio. Paginated the journal to celebrate the anniversary of Auto Júlio.

  • 2017-2018 Graphic Designer - Meanse Design. Here I developed labels, posters, branding, photography, illustrations and packaging for different brands, such as Purah, Orgie, Huge Hug, among others.

  • 2019 Graphic Designer - Vicente Electrodomésticos. Designed the new logo and remaining graphic elements.

  • 2019 Artistic Residence - Mosteiro da Batalha. As an invitation of the city council of Batalha, the Monastery of Batalha and IPL, I participated in the Artistic Residence that took place in Batalha, with the purpose of making a record of Batalha Monastery and it’s surroundings.

  • 2019 Graphic Designer - Stand Rainha. Designed the new logo for the Stand Rainha.

  • 2020 Graphic Designer - Purah. Did some freelance work for Purah.

  • 2021 Illustrator (volunteer) - Miar Oeiras. Participated on a wonderful project with other artists to create a calendar for this animal association. I created an illustration for the month of September with a lot of kitties.

  • 2022 Curricular Internship - Ambar Science. As part of my master degree in illustration and animation, I created illustrations to put on the packaging of scientific games for kids, and also created some little animations for the social media.

  • 2023 Professional Internship - Ambar. I’m creating illustrations and graphic content for the company. Designing packaging, catalogues, flyers, and so on.

Exhibitions

  • 2016 Equus Mundi, o Mundo dos Cavalos. As the PAP for my professional course I did a photographic exhibition about the equestrian world and it’s activities and sports.

  • 2018 Unlikely Graphic Poster. My work was displayed on exhibition about experimental posters as part of the discipline of Project of Graphic Design .

  • 2018 Expo Tipos de Letra Display (Experimentação Tipográfica). My work was displayed on exhibition about experimental typography as part of the discipline of Typography.

  • 2018 Design de Tipografia. My type was featured as one of the types created by the last year students.

  • 2019 Algorithm. As part of the discipline of Project of Graphic Design, was created a poster or object about the algorithm (did a poster).

  • 2019 Module I Model Drawing Exhibition. Took a course of Model Drawing with the teacher Paula Nobre, and when it was over, there was a exhibit of the work done during it.

  • 2021 Exposição de Ilustração Tipográfica- Têpluquê. Got challenged to create a typographic poster about changing letters for this exhibition for a new word festival in Braga.

  • 2021 Futurando Setúbal - É preciso fazer um desenho? Got two of my illustrations selected to represent my class (MIA) along with some colleges.

  • 2021 Braga em Risco - MIA Mostra de Ilustração. One of my illustrations (The Adventure #1) got featured on this exhibit.

  • 2022 Galeria Padaria Águas Furtadas - Illustrating for Ukraine. My illustration that I created as result of my feeling of incapacity towards the war got selected for this exhibit and if bought, the money reverted to support the association Ucranianos em Portugal.

Hi! I’m Margarida aka Daisy!
I draw cute characters and creatures.I’m a portuguese illustrator, born in 1997, from Caldas da Rainha that is now living in Barcelos.
I grew up playing a lot of different sports (from tenis to judo) thanks to my parents that always supported me to find my passion. And I did find it when I was 8 years old as a horse back rider. From here my life was everything horse related, started to draw horses and also got my first camera with which I began to take equestrian photos. This passion brought me to take my professional course of Communication at ETEO where I also found Graphic Design and Illustration.
Nowadays I feel more drawn to create D&D characters and draw kitties.In the future, I would love to create my own comic or graphic novel. I've so many stories to put on paper and tell the world.
